A member asked:

I asked for a chlamydia and gonorrhea throat swab at the gynecologist and they were not familiar with it. they used a regular sterile cervical swab and collected results from my throat, which came out negative. is this a reliable result?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Oral testing for STD: If sexual exposure to STD's were strictly limited to oral contact, a negative test for chlamydia/gonorrhea should be reliable.
