A member asked:

Is syphilis joint pain severe? affecting only one joint? or can it be extremely mild, affecting seemingly all joints? any details would be appreciated?

Gonorrhea is the often cause of monoarthritis (inflammation of only one joint) than syphilis. Syphilis related joint disease usually involves multiple joints mainly in the form synovitis. If rashes, lymphadenopathy and synovitis are concurrently present, syphilis is likely the cause. Take care!
