What was the indication for that cancer marker? This test is mainly used for follow up post ovarian cancer treatment, not useful for cancer detection in a normal population. Because your result is mildly elevated so ultrasound was done just for your peace of mind. Negative pelvic ultrasound is more than enough and this CA 125 test should not be done in the first place.

This test is clinically used in the diagnosis of ovarian cancer. Unfortunately there is no international standard and not everyone with an abnormal test has it. If your pelvic ultrasound shows no indication of ovarian abnormality then trans vaginal method will not improve on that. Your Gyn may have chosen follow up as an option . Best is to discuss it with her/him and have them explain Goodluck
