Mycoplasma genitalium is sexually transmitted, causes urethritis in men and maybe cervicitis and PID in women. All other mycoplasmas and ureaplasma species are normal genital bacteria. They are sexually transmitted in that sex partners often share them, but harmless, rarely if ever causing symptoms or disease. CDC, the American STD Association, and other experts recommend against testing for them.

Probably negative results 12 days after exposure are reliable. However, except maybe for M. genitalium, it wouldn't matter if your results were positive.

It is not early and is reliable if done correctly.

But what use is a reliable test for non-pathogens?? Tests considered rarely if ever indicated by CDC, the American STD Association, and their counterparts in several other countries?
