A member asked:

I tested for ureaplasma & mycoplasma (still waiting for results) but i was taking metronidazole for bv while i tested. can the test be false negative?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

False negative tests: It is very unlikely to have "false negative" tests because of simultaneously taking metronidazole. On occasion, a specific bacterial or fungal agent which may cause "BV" is not found on testing, but it is usually treated successfully with what you are taking or other antibiotics.
