A member asked:

51 years old premenopausal hpv test was negative said pap was normal but just got a message from my doctor that endometrial cells were present ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Pap smear results: If HPV was negative, and the pap was otherwise normal, endometrial cells on the pap smear is not unusual in a pre-menopausal state. The cells may predict an overgrowth of endometrium from the increased levels of estrogen in the pre-menopausal state, which stimulates growth of these cells. Ask your gyn physician about low dose oral bcp's which stop ovarian function (if no contraindications).
