Tough rehab: Total knee is harder to rehab than hip. Little risk to flaring itband though. Quad strength is key to you going in strong. Get on the bike and walk / hike more.

Not increased: The risks for a total knee are not increased 9 months after a total hip. The general risks include blood clots, infection, stiffness, persistent pain, late implant loosening among others. It band tenderness is fairly common around the trochanter after tha. It could also be aggravated by an arthritic knee.
