Depends: Was extraction done at same time? If so you will have pain. A lot of other factors including prior infection, quality of bone, medical factors (diabetic?), habits (smoker?), proximity to your sinus. Time /healing will typically take several months if dentist did recent examination and x-ray and said everything is fine, then your healing may be slow.

Not that long: Most times the pain is pretty much gone in a week. Were you given antibiotics? Last x-ray? Get checked again!

Healing Implants: Unfortunately the range in post operative pain varies greatly among individuals specific situations & there is no general rule of thumb. Your medical history, habits, pain threshold, proximity to sinus, condition of adjacent teeth, occlusion, general health, condition of supporting tissues, medications taken, oral hygiene, quality of restorations, depth\placement of implant, etc. all play a role

Should be gone: After almost 2 years, you should be fully healed. If you are having this pain, you should have the crown removed and the implant checked for pain upon application of torque (within limits).Sometimes there is enough bone healing to hold it , but incomplete surrounding bone. This results in fibrous connective tissue attachment and sensation. See Oral Surgeon for evaluation. Good Luck.

Dental implant pain: is the most common symptom and in some cases the pain may last more than 3 to 4 weeks. If concerned, you should contact your dentist again and schedule an appointment to find out the cause of the problem.

Implant pain: There should be no pain after an implant integrated with your bone. Three years is a very long time. There may be something else involved. Please get a second opinion from another dentist or preferably an oral surgeon.
