Not really: I do not see any connection . Common cold is viral infection that affect the upper air way including nasal passage , throat and sometimes the pharynx and rarely the larynx.

No relationship: I don't think they are related. Gum swelling is usually caused by gum infection/trauma/inflammation/vit c deficiency - but not related to common cold.
