Maybe: My initial thought to your question was "no, " because athlete's foot causes itching feet more often than diabetes. But i see you are on metformin so you may have diabetes. Your primary care doctor can answer that question for you after a simple blood test. Athlete's foot and neuropathy are both common in diabetics and can cause itching.
