A member asked:

How can i get checked for endometriosis, i was told by my doctor that is what is thought for me to have it. what do i need to do?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Clinical diagnosis: Most patients DX with endometriosis are diagnosed based on their symptoms. There is no blood test or lab result. For a definitive diagnosis, a laparoscopy is needed, preferably with a tissue biopsy to confirm endometriosis. Most docs will treat based on symptoms though and reserve laparoscopy for those patients trying to conceive, who have cysts, or for whom destruction of endometriosis is goal.
