Emergency Room?: Can't think of anything the Emergency Room could do better than the Ob-Gyn doctor. Best to contact one's Ob-Gyn doctor for advice and treatment. The Emergency Room is for emergencies, such as a heart attack, stroke, appendicitis, or bad abdominal pain from a ruptured ovarian cyst. If there are no abdominal pain symptoms nor other bad symptoms, the Ob-Gyn doctor can offer advice, avoiding the E.R.
