Yes: Laparoscopic surgery is used to diagnose endometriosis. Reduction of the number of endometriotic implants is often done at the same time. Endometriosis grows in response to estrogen so it can be treated medically by drugs that block or oppose estrogen, but it can also recur if estrogen is present.
