See a urologist: Your wife needs to see a urololgist. It appears as though she has a rather large kidney stone on the left side. This is not likely to pass on its own due to its size. The urologist will likely place a stent in the ureter allowing the stone to pass on its own. If this is not done, she could get an infection of the kidney.

Nephrolithiasis: May have passed the stone on the left, may be having referred pain, the pain could be due to something other than stones, the stone could have been missed by the imaging study. This question should go to the urologist evaluating the situation. Hope they are better soon.
