Age is not factor: Tummy tucks (witch hazel) are done to repair muscle defects or weakness and to remove lax, excess skin. Age not as important as the skin and patient history. Young people have more elasticity, therefore less excess skin. Following final pregnancy is a common time to begin to think about it. Tucks (witch hazel) are not for weight loss, and are a serious surgical undertaking.

No minimum but why.: There is no age limit but in general, the vast majority are performed following pregnancy and major weight loss. As such patients generally tend to be older than those undergoing breast augmentation for example. Typically " young" tummy tuck patients are in their 20's. However it has been performed for reconstructive or massive weight loss patients under 18 but this is exceedingly rare.

At least 18: Typically, a tummy tuck should be done after you are finished having children, since pregnancy is the usual greatest cause for the roundness of your abdomen and the stretched skin.

Age for tumy tuck: You should be at least 21 years of age prior to a tummy tuck, as your body will have stopped growing, and you will be able to make an informed decision about your choices. We generally also suggest that you finish having children prior to having a tummy tuck, as your skin and tissues could stretch out again with another pregnancy.

18 years old: Though many females are having children in their teens, which has social and ethical implications, i would not recommend a non-adult in undergoing a tummy tuck. It is also important to ensure that my patients are done with having children.

Nearly any age: Consent form a legally responsible adult must be obtained but the principles of a tummy tuck are commonly performed on infants with a condition known as gastroschesis. However i assume you mean a cosmetic tummy tuck in which case this is usually performed on an individual over the age of 18 who has completed childbearing.

Adult and....: A tummy tuck is a restorative cosmetic operation for mostly women to counteract the changes of weight loss and pregnancy. It is ideally performed after childbearing is complete. The age is usually in a woman's 20's or 30's.
