A 45-year-old member asked:

is special k protein drink good for a diabetic meal?

No: Food, in restricted amounts, is much better for meals than any shake, drink, supplement or substitute -- no matter whether you have diabetes or not. These meal replacements are only an attempt to make money on products that have no use.

Dr. Adarsh Gupta

Chicken: Protein sources are labeled as: complete proteins (provide all essential Amino Acids (aa) in sufficient quantity), e.g., chicken, fish, eggs, milk & cheese. Incomplete proteins (either do not provide all essential aa or provide all Amino Acids in not sufficient quantity), e.g. Rice, beans, tofu and soy. Plant proteins are incomplete. You must combine them to get all of the Amino Acids body needs.

Whats a good way to build protein?

2 doctor answers7 doctors weighed in
Dr. Pavel Conovalciuc
Family Medicine 23 years experience
To eat it: You don't build protein. It is being built in your body from its components - aminoacids. To help your body build more protein, you need to consume more of the build blocks - aminoacids that are found in animal and vegetable protein. So, in other words - eat more protein rich foods - meats, dairy, eggs, less so legumes.

Usually, they are. Read the labels, get on the internet, read people's comments/feedback.
