Game-Day nutrition: The night before the soccer game is the best time to eat a large meal balanced with carbohydrates and protein. Hydrate well the night before, too. On game date eat substantial yet light meals again with complex carbs/protein, but no sooner than 4 hours before your game. Avoid high fat foods like burgers/chips/dairy. A small snack (banana/protein drink) and dilute sports drink 2 hours before.
