Not now/depends,,,: At this point, unless you've got any positive signs of an inflammatory bowel condition, you should not worry excessively. Your biopsy was negative. Your mother having colon cancer should motivate you to take steps to take care of your health that way with a high fiber diet and check-ups like the colonoscopy that you did. Close follow up with your doctor also helps a lot.

Not necessarily: Non-specific inflammation is not uncommon on a random biopsy of the colon or rectum done during a colonoscopy. I would not worry if your colonoscopy was normal and you are not having symptoms.

Possibly: Inflammatory changes in bowel are associated with abnormal micro organisims and bacteria that initiate the process. Normal flora known as the microbiome controls the expansion and function of immune reactivity in bowel by producing a regulatory cell, the FOXP3. This suppresses organisms initiating inflammation which in some instances can lead to development of malignancy. Re bx if indicated.
