Depends: If a tooth needs a root canal, a crown will not solve the problem. Root canals vary in price. The front teeth are cheaper than back teeth due to the number of canals. If I do a root canal on a back tooth, it must have a crown. For me it is a package deal, if they won't do the crown, i will not do the root canal. They can split without a crown.
