I've been taking prozac 60mg for a few months now. with no improvement, my doc switched me to cymbalta (duloxetine) 60mg. can i stop the prozac cold and switch over?

Consult Doc: Prozac (fluoxetine) is a long acting medication and stays in your system for a long time and usually does not need tapering down of dose, however you seem to be on a higher dose, tapering to a smaller dose should before discontinuing. Your doc is the best person to decide that.

Yes: Would discuss with your treating physician. Prozac (fluoxetine) is metabolized slowly so there should not be a problem.
