Prozac (fluoxetine) lasts longer: Prozac primarily blocks serotonin reuptake. Cymbalta (duloxetine) blocks norepinephrine & serotonin reuptake. Prozac lasts up to 2 wks in your system after the last dose. Cymbalta (duloxetine) also is used to treat pain & depression. Prozac can help for some anxiety disorders, bulimia & depression. It has variable efficacy in borderline personality disorder.
