Carbs: It is very important to stay away from all carbohydrates, except for vegetables, avoid fruit except for low glycemic berries in small quantities. Focus on protein, good forms of fat and green leafy vegetables. A wheat-free (gluten-free) diet may also be very helpful as there are many different components to wheat that have been shown to spike blood sugar.
