Consider hypnosis: If you are concerned about insomnia you should learn about hypnotherapy. It is something anyone can learn, takes just a session or two and can cure insomnia without using medication at all. It also reduces stress. Find a qualified psychologist to help you learn how hypnosis can help.

Multiple issues: Are you trying to go to sleep at a time when you are tired and ready to go to sleep, or just "because it's time to go to sleep". If the latter, then that could be your problem. You can't force yourself to go to bed at a time when you aren't ready to sleep. Other issues could include medication, depression, anxiety, etc. See a sleep specialist. Good luck!
