Lipid profile: Your husband has high triglycerides and low hdl. This is associated with metabolic syndrome. That is large stomach and tendency for diabetes. The treatment is Niacin and fenofibrates. These drugs are not risky. Weight loss, diet and exercise is important. He is at high risk for pancreatitis, as well, if the triglycerides get higher. He is also at risk of heart disease. He needs to see a doctor.
