Never so simple: Traditionally we view LDL cholesterol as "bad" and HDL as "good. Vldl , LDL and HDL are particles or carriers that transport cholesterol and triglycerides. There really is no "good" or "bad" cholesterol. It is what happens to it and how it is transported that determines its fate. Hdl can be dysfunctional &ldl had many important properties. Bottom line is look at lipid panel in context of patient.
