My husbands total cholesterol is 192, his hdl chol is 37, triglycerides are 65, ldl chol is 142, non hdl chol is 155 & chol/hdlc ratio is 5.2. bad??

Cholesterol: Dont worry . Cholesterol is normal but watch cholesterol intake as upper limits is 200. Triglycerides are good HDL is borderline ( should be > 40) Would not add meds but consider exercise ,weight loss if BMI > 25 ( t http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health/educational/lose_wt/BMI/bmicalc.htm, exercise, fish oil 1000 mg 2 tab a day (OTC),stop smoking . limit alcohol ,eat walnuts f/u w/doc

Not great...: Even though his total cholesterol is normal, his HDL is a bit low and his LDL is a bit high - these would need to be corrected. This profile does put him at risk for heart disease and stroke.
