Multiple things: Your past stroke is probably not significant in your leg swelling. Swelling of the leg is often caused by venous disease. The two most serious reasonsfor leg swelling are heart failure and venous drainage obstruction. Obstruction can be due to a mass in the pelvis which compresses the veins draining the legs.
