Many Causes: Swelling can be caused by many things but the most common is problems with your veins. Varicose veins, venous insufficiency and venous stasis can cause pooling of the fluid from you blood in your ankles and feet. This is more likely to occur as a person ages. I recommend you see your primary care doctor for evaluation.
