Unpredictable.: Keloids are unpredictable. If you are prone to them there is always a chance any time there is a break in your skin through a piercing a keloid can form.

Avoid nickel : I have found that jewelry alloys containing nickel are more prone to keloid formation as opposed to pure gold or titanium jewelry.
