Sugar then food: Disorientation makes this a severe reaction. First give sugar, as you did. The symptoms should go away quickly. Once the symptoms are better and the glu up out of danger range, better to give food that will have a more sustained response, and avoid an overcorrection. It is also important to look at the overall picture. Did she miss a meal? Did she take too much insulin? Is there an explanation?
