Foreign body sense: Dry eye would be the most likely source, but the common treatments did not help. Checking the schirmer and tear breakup time would help confirm the source. Everting the upper lid can help identify a foreign body or calcification on the inside of the lid. A topical NSAID can often help. The margins of surgical incisions on the eye often temporarily create friction when the lid blinks. See md.

Too long: It is known that the eyes can be dry after lasik, but to have a continued foreign body sensation (eyelash) 8 weeks out with plugs and using artificial tears is too long. You need further evaluation to determine if the eyes have a post-lasik dry syndrome, if there was a problem with the surgery, or if there is an unrelated problem. A second opinion could be considered. Consider a pm eye ointment.
