schirmirs show mild: Underproduction of tears. It will not hurt you to use warm compresses and artificial tears when you get the foreign body sensation. 5 months after lasik you should be well healed.

Dry eye: Your symptoms sound like dry eye. See your surgeon and consider Restasis and/or punctal plugs. In the meantime, try nonpreservative artificial tears, ointment at night, warm compresses, and fish oil supplements.
