Common after lasik: Dry eye can be common after lasik even with the punctal plug. You may need to check with the treating doctor for other options and to make sure all is ok. Be sure to use preservative free drops (break-off containers) and consider a thicker gel type version to alternate, and an ophthalmic ointment or gel (systane gel) at night. This will improve with time.

Typically yes: It's pretty common to experience dryness. Ask your surgeon about restasis, omega-3 or flaxseed. Consider a moisture chamber while sleeping to avoid tear evaporation. Ceiling fans or car a/c vents can cause evaporation as well.
