Skim milk: Drinking skim or low fat milk is fine. In general, a low fat diet is fine. Focus on eating protein, vegetables, water, and avoid excessive intake of carbohydrates, sweets, sodas, etc. Exercising regularly (cardiovascular exercise, not weight lifting) will help tremendously as well. Low impact sports like swimming or the elliptical machine will save your joints. It takes time but you can do it!
