No.: The purpose of liposuction surgery is to simply treat areas of diet and exercise resistant adipose tissue, with good quality ( satisfactory elasticity) skin overlying the area. It is not meant to treat patients who are trying to lose weight and is done ideally when patients have achieved a long-term stable weight ( avoid weight gain postoperatively).

No: The patients who are most successful with liposuction are the ones who maintain a stable weight after the lipo. If you gain weight after lipo, the fat has to go somewhere - and it may go to places you're not too excited about, like your arms, upper back, etc....
