Nerve damage: If the nerve was not severed, but only damaged it is possible that over a lengthy time period the sensation may return gradually, but perhaps not. A muscle hernia may require surgical repair. Why don't you discuss this with the orthopedic surgeon who removed your hardware? Good luck.
