Hernia repair in dec now have numb tingling and in pain outer thigh no answers from doctrs is it serious? is their a name for it?

Not serious: Depending on the location of the hernia, the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve may have been stretched, bruised or even cut. Damage to this nerve causes numbness, tingling or pain in the outer thigh. It is called meralgia paresthetica. It is not a serious condition, and won't affect strength in the leg. It can be painful or just downright annoying. It may get better w time.
