Maybe: Would ask if you have had any back pain? If not, then maybe related to mesh.

Unlikely : While sensory nerves of the groin and lateral thigh can be damaged or cut and cause pain or numbness after groin hernia repair, these nerves do not extend to the feet, or even to the distal thigh. It may be a disc problem of the spine.
