It Depends: If the issue is a short term problem that is likely to resolve in a short time, a mild antianxiety med like valium or Ativan may be prescribed. If it is more severe & though to be a continuing problems you might be given Cymbalta (duloxetine) or another snri or an ssri or any number of meds that are non-addicting. The important thing is to get the stress under control & follow up with counsling & therapy.
