Some doctors won't: prescribe Xanax (alprazolam) (benzodiazepine - can be habit-forming). If SSRIs not helpful, venlafaxine is worth trying. Propranolol is an option. Therapy is best and can help change negative thoughts, improve self-confidence, and gradually work up to facing anxiety-inducing situations. Skills training and role-playing practice for social skills improve comfort and confidence relating to others. Best regards.
