Yes: Tmj can be successfully managed when the correct diagnosis is made. Therapy can take some time to work depending on your age and the length of time you have had the problem.

Yes: By fix, we mean to reduce your symptoms. The TMJ is a difficult joint to "fix" completely. A combination of splint therapy to reduce symptoms, diet change (no chewy foods for a while) and nsaid's will reduce symptoms. A bite evaluation after splint therapy to determine any bite slide issues that need to be corrected. Most treatments reduce symptoms, not eliminate them. Good luck.

Need to know cause: If you are dealing with tmj, getting an evaluation and diagnosis can hopefully can point you in right direction. Tmj/tmd can be a symptom, that if left untreated, can lead to more severe problems.
