Perhaps: Only in that some patients with displaced TMJ discs have very loud popping and snapping of the jaw with chewing. If that is the case, see an oral surgeon who may recommend an operation.

Clicking sounds: There are many different symptoms of TMJ disorder. Early symptoms of TMJ include pain that is localized in the neck and head, headaches, limited range of motivation and clicking or popping sounds. These noises make you to chew food loudly.
