Be careful but...: It depends on your starting point but generally 1-3 pounds lost voluntarily/week is well tolerated if achieved with a balanced diet & exercise, particularly if supervised by a medical professional. Excessive weight lost too fast puts your health at risk. Of course, if your described weight loss was unintentional, please consult a physician for evaluation.

No: If you are overweight & just started eating healthy & exercising, it isn't uncommon to lose a lot of weight early on. Much is water weight. On average, with a healthy diet, it is recommended to lose 1lb per week. Fad diets (ex atkins, juice) are not healthy because you are missing vital nutrients & cannot maintain it in the long run & still be healthy. Changing your lifestyle to a healthy one will.
