Palate pain: Extraction of a single tooth can be stormy, even though "it's just a tooth". But when it involves 4 to 8 months of pain then recurs after such a long time you need further examination by a trained specialist. Suspicion gets higher for things possibly overlooked by someone who removed the tooth. You need to see an oral surgeon who would likely need further studies like ct scan to examine you fully.

Ongoing care: You didn't mention if you were in ongoing dental care, but if you had a serious enough condition to warrant treatment which resulted in an extraction, it's likely you have other conditions present that are causing your current pain. You may well have serious conditions, also, that are not painful, but you need to be in good, ongoing dental care to diagnose (and prevent further) these problems.

Reevaluation: You need an evaluation with a dentist that may involve a 3d cone beam x-ray. It is a low dose 3d that can be taken in a dental office that is equiped with the technology. Could be an os, endodontist or periodontiis as long as they have the machine to take 3d.
