A member asked:

I have ureteric calculus about 5.3mm. what does this mean and how it is cured?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Drink lots of fluid: Ureteral stones often pass spontaneously when <6mm, but not always. The amount of pain they cause when traveling from the kidney to the bladder can also vary quite a bit. You need to keep well hydrated wth lots of fluids. About 50% of first stone formers will form another stone within 5 years. If pains persist after several weeks--see a urologist.
