Drink Water: A kidney stone moves down the ureter to the bladder causing a sharp pain on that side of the back which migrates down and around to the front ending in the groin. Once in the bladder the pain stops because the path out is not as narrow. Increasing fluid intake helps and ibuprofen or naproxen will alleviate the pain. You have two kidneys so if you're drinking you should still be making urine
