Radiograph: A radiograph is an x-ray. The hurt could be several things. Two possibilities are root sensitivity from a little root exposure, the other is a gum issue. Have the dentist check it. It could be minor.

Return to dentist: A radiograph is an x ray if the margin of the crown is touching your gum it can irritate the gums and cause discomfort and possibly swelling go back to your dentist so the problem can be eliminated.

Xray: Radiograph is an xray. There are many reasons why your new crown hurts and why you have sensitivity at the gum line. It is important you report your symptoms to your dentist, hot/cold, pressure, chewing, etc. And also did you have deep decay, cracked tooth syndrome...? Check with your dentist.. Maybe you need root canal...

Maybe.: It is possible, however, you most likely have a gingival recession around your crown that is causing root surface sensitivity.
