Not likely related--: Any change in hearing or balance or now dizzy? Very easy to push q-tip (or other small item) through ear drum, which is why it is not recommended. If none of above, could be outer ear irritation, but not likely direct association to sinus condition. See dr if any of above symptoms or if drainage (/bleeding) persists) for check.

Ear trauma: The two are not at all related. The blood on the q-tip would from excessive pressure of the ear canal wall. It is susceptible to trauma. Be careful, and stop q-tip use if it keeps on happening.

Never: Never stick anything in your ear, and that includes a qtip. You could cause permanent injury.

Best to see: Your family doctor for an ear exam. You may have accidently cut part of the ear canal with the stick part of the q-tip. Or it could be more serious.

The rule of thumb is to never put anything into your ear smaller than your elbow. That said, would be a good idea to see your GP or, if you don't have one, Urgent Care (not ER) to determine if there was slight trauma that nis now healing or if something more serious nis going on.
