Can be helpful: For mild to moderate depression, a naturopath may be helpful. If you haven't already, see your doctor and make sure your symptoms are from depression and not an underlying medical condition (i.e. Thyroid or hormone fluctuations). There are many alternative treatments available. If you find yourself in a severe depression, medication and therapy work best.

I believe in : Approaching mood disorders from multiple angles at once. Naturopathy can be beneficial. Talk about feelings ; address problems. Don't avoid them. Aim for 7.5 - 8 hours of sleep/ night. Daily physical activity is optimal in a green space. Eat healthfully. Cut out junk carbs, caffeine ; alcohol (or moderate). Try qi gong, tai chi, acupuncture, acupressure, meditation, yoga, exercise program. Etc.

Not much: Naturopaths will offer you a host of usually expensive "supplements" of dubious quality but none of these even if of good quality have been proven to affect depressiohn. See a psychiatrist or a psychologist if you have this condtiion.

Sure. : This is an excellent option for holistic intervention. So much of treatment of depression is non pharmacological ( therapy, nutrition, exercise, etc. ). . Seek out a practitioner who will work with you on this. But medicine is not one size fits all. if not working don't be afraid to add scientifically proven regimens as well.
