That depends on : Your symptoms. If you are suicidal, have lost touch with reality or are not able to function adequately - those are reasons for possible inpatient treatment. Are you in outpatient treatment? If you don't meet admission criteria - I do hope that you are working with a professional behavioral health provider. If you are actively suicidal - please get seen at the nearest emergency room asap.

Depression: Most often that is not necessary unless outpatient therapy has not been effective. Make sure you obtain a psychotherapist who can help you make such a decision. Best.
